      West Philadelphia

“In West Philadelphia born and raised…” a seemingly simple little line from Will Smith as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air helped put West Philly on the map.

West of the Schuylkill River, this area represents a large sector of Philadelphia, bordered by City Avenue to the northwest and Cobbs Creek to the southwest.    University City encompasses the eastern most section of West Philadelphia.

Proudly serving zip codes 19101, 19131, 19139, 19143, and 19151, West Philly is extremely diverse ethnically and steeped in American history.    A mix of rowhomes, detached, and semi-detached scatter the area. Developed between 1850 and 1930, driven by the introduction of the horsecar, West Philly was designed by the city’s most prolific architects who created truly stunning properties.
