A Memorable Day at the Linc: What to Expect and Where to Go

If you’re a sports fan living in or visiting Philadelphia, you probably already know about the city’s deep love for football. And if you’re a die-hard Eagles fan, you know that there’s no better place to be on game day than Lincoln Financial Field. The stadium has been the home of the Philadelphia Eagles since 2003 and has hosted countless events, from concerts to soccer games to political rallies. But if you’ve never been to an Eagles game or an event at the stadium, you might be wondering what to expect. In this blog post, we’ll take you through spending a day at Lincoln Financial Field, from tailgating to the game itself.

      Getting there:

The first thing you’ll want to figure out is how to get to Lincoln Financial Field. Luckily, the stadium is easily accessible by car, public transportation, or even by foot if you enjoy a bit of a hike. If you’re driving, there are several parking lots around the stadium where you can reserve in advance or purchase on game day. If you’re taking public transportation, SEPTA’s Broad Street Line will take you right to the stadium’s doorstep, and several bus routes also stop nearby. And if you’re walking, the stadium is about 2 miles from Center City and can be reached in about 30-40 minutes.

      Tailgating:

One of the best parts of any Eagles game is the tailgating. Fans gather in the parking lots surrounding the stadium to grill, drink, and celebrate before the game. There are no official rules for tailgating, but if you’re planning on doing it, there are a few things you should know. First of all, you’ll need to bring your own food, drinks, and supplies. Alcohol is allowed as long as you’re being responsible and not causing any trouble. And remember to respect your fellow fans and keep the area clean.

      Inside the stadium:

Once you’ve had your fill of tailgating, it’s time to head into the stadium for the game. Lincoln Financial Field has a seating capacity of around 69,000 and is known for its raucous atmosphere. If you’re looking for the best view of the action, aim for seats in the lower level or midfield. But keep in mind that these seats can be more expensive. If you’re on a budget, there are plenty of less expensive seats in the upper level that still offer a great view of the game. Once you’re in the stadium, be sure to check out the Eagles pro shop, which offers all sorts of merchandise for the team.

      Food and drinks:

No game day experience is complete without food and drinks, and Lincoln Financial Field has plenty of options. From Philly cheesesteaks to hot dogs to craft beer, there’s something for everyone. The stadium also has several food stands that offer vegetarian and gluten-free options, so no one is left out. Be prepared to pay a premium for food and drinks inside the stadium, however, so if you’re on a tight budget, consider bringing some snacks and drinks from home.

      After the game:

After the game is over and the Eagles have hopefully emerged victorious, it’s time to head home. If you’re taking public transportation, be prepared for some crowds and potential delays. If you’re driving, be patient and follow the directions of the parking attendants. And if you’re walking, enjoy the scenery and the company of your fellow fans as you head back to your starting point.

Spending a day at Lincoln Financial Field is an experience that every Eagles fan should have at least once. From the tailgating to the game itself, there’s nothing like being part of the Philly sports community. We hope this blog post has given you an idea of what to expect and where to go on game day.
